Community Impact & Outreach

Organization: Engineers Without Borders ~ Sacramento Valley Professional Chapter (EWB~SVPC)

My Role: Project Lead (Current), Chapter Secretary (Past)

Focus Area: Community Development, STEM Outreach, Technical Mentorship

Mentorship & Stem Outreach

I am deeply committed to diversifying the future of the construction and engineering industry. In 2024 and 2025, I led the chapter's participation in Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED), coordinating volunteers and activities to connect with young students. For 2026, I have passed the coordination reigns to a new lead to foster leadership within the chapter, though I remain an active volunteer for the event. These events provide a critical opportunity to connect with young students, demystify the profession, and demonstrate that structural engineering is a creative, impactful career path for women.

Engineering with Intention

My work with Structuary is grounded in the belief that engineering is a service to people, not just a mathematical exercise. Volunteering with EWB allows me to apply technical skills to fundamental human needs while fostering a stronger engineering community here in Sacramento. It is a direct extension of my professional ethos: to build with purpose and ensure safe, sustainable infrastructure is accessible to communities both locally and globally.

Chapter Leadership & Active Projects

My involvement has evolved from administrative governance to technical leadership. After serving as Chapter Secretary, where I helped streamline operations and member engagement, I transitioned into a project leadership role. I am currently helping lead the application and vetting phase for a new partnership project. This work involves assessing community needs and determining technical feasibility to ensure our chapter’s resources are directed where they can create the most lasting benefit.
